Mauricio has proposed to me on Feb. 11, 2010 after 2 years and 4 months being together. Very surprising, very sweet, and very diligent. :) Here comes the detailed record with photos!
I was expecting Mauricio to arrive in Taiwan on Friday, Feb. 12 according to the "fake" flight schedule from Mauricio. (I am having my one month vacation in Taiwan due to Chinese New Year). On Thursday night, the 11th, I was sitting at home expecting my cousin Camille to come. (Although I was wondering why she wanted to come that night since we were meeting up the next day for lunch to welcome Mauricio.)
9pm on Feb. 11, Camille arrived with my uncle and aunt as well as another cousin who drove a big van. They came into my house and sat down... nothing weired yet except for the big van. The door bell rang, my uncle asked me to go to the front gate and said there was something. I went out to the front gate, and saw this person wearing a very colorful shawl. It was very dark outside so I couldn't see well. I thought it was a strange woman out there asking for something from my uncle. But this strange "woman" came in with a huge bouquet. I realized that it was Mauricio who was followed by 6 people with "Mariachi" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mariachi) singing Spanish songs the way they came in. I was very surprised and shocked by the so-called "Serenata". I called my family out to see all these and apparently, my parents and sisters were all shocked with eyes and mouth wide open :P
However, that was not the most surprising part of the night. I was naive enough to think that this was the entertaining show for the night and that was it. But I was wrong. After the second song, all the Mariachis stepped aside and Mauricio suddenly knelt down in front of me and took out the ring. "Nee yuen yee gia ge wo ma?" Mauricio proposed to me in Chinese!! I was super surprised so was everyone else. Mauricio also said to my parents in Chinese that he loves me and he would like to marry their daughter. However, maybe due to the inaccurate pronunciation, my father thought Mauricio was proposing to him. LOL. Although I did not expect all these coming, the words "I do" fell out of my mouth with excitement. The only thing I really regretted was how I dressed that day... I was dressing horribly and I couldnt find any slippers when I went out so I wore my dad's slippers... super ugly!!
As for the next important questions... when and where?? We have not set the date and place yet. (definitely not this year though) As Mauricio termed it -- This is to put you "on hold", so that you are "not for sale" anymore -- :P

P.S.1 -- Where did Mauricio get all the Mariachi guys?
He got in touch with a Mexican guy Isa who owns a Mexican restaurant in Taipei (capital of Taiwan) and asked Isa for help to organize the Mariachis. Isa has found 5 students who are from Columbia, Paraguay, Honduras, Dominic Repoublic. Although they are not professional, they are still pretty good already :)
P.S.2 -- Was there a spy who assisted Mauricio since the beginning?
Yes, that is Camille, my cousin. Mauricio got in touch with her in November last year and told her about the plan (only to the Mariachi part, not the proposal part) so she helped to book bouquets, arrange transportation to my place and make sure I would be at home that night.
P.S.3 -- How did Mauricio make it on Feb. 11?
He arrived Taiwan at noon and took the bus from the airport to Taipei 101. In order to look nicer for the night, he walked around Taipei 101 intending to find a cheap hotel to take a shower. However, he was not able to. So he decided to hop on a taxi and luckily the driver understood what he wanted. So the driver took him to a cheap motel, 3 hours for NTD380, to take a shower. LOL. After that, he went to Taipei 101 to pick up the ring that he has ordered. Speaking about the ring, there is a story too. He had in mind what size and style he wants. He checked with the store in Hamburg but the service was not good and it did not get back to him. He checked with the store in New York, even thinking about flying to NY if they have the perfect size and style. It turned out to be that the store in NY only has one size bigger or smaller. He then got in touch with the store in Taipei and luckily this very nice lady was kind enough to help him find the perfectly right ring in Hong Kong and order it for Mauricio. After he took the ring in Taipei 101, he met up with Camille to get the bouquets and go to my town in my uncle's car (also arranged). They went straight to a designated place to meet up with all the Mariachi guys and went together to my place.
